Miss Margaret Courtney, my great-aunt originally opened her business here in 1909 and it has been run by four generations of ladies in my family. I reopened in summer 2008 as Miss Courtney's Tearooms.

We are an independent tearooms specializing in afternoon tea fare, light lunches and breakfasts. We endevour to capture the feeling of nostalgia associated with 'taking tea'. Expect old fashioned tablecloths, antique chinaware and glistening chandeliers........ ....take some time to 'take some tea' with us.

and your favourite tea. served on our
beautiful silver tiered stands.

 Our freshly home baked cakes change daily but usually include: Victoria Sponge, Apple pie, Lemon drizzle, Blueberry sponge, Coffee Cake, Chocolate cake, Chocolate & Brandy (gluten free), Bakewell tart, sticky toffee date & walnut, cupcakes and many more.

 open and afternoon tea sandwiches, salads, and soups

Scrambled Eggs with griddled pancetta served with toasted focaccia
Smoked Salmon with a poached egg on wholemeal toast.
Eggs Benedict ~ two poached eggs and ham on a toasted muffin with hollandaise sauce.
Egg Florentine ~ two poached eggs and spinach on atoasted muffin with hollandaise sauce.
Scrambled Eggs on toast
Two Free range boiled eggs with toasted soldiers.
Waffles with maple syrup and cream.
Traditional Porridge served with muscavado dark sugar and pouring cream.
Strawberries, yogurt and granola.
